This gives you so much more to be thankful for now. <br /><br />I know that I, so much more, appreciate the life that I have after hearing the story of my Mom's life, being orphaned at 4, in an out of foster homes, and then being raised by an alcoholic that regularly beat her, her sister, and her brother. And when we moved to Taft when I was 7, there were no other Mexicans in this town and I was taunted about being "black," etc. <br /><br />I can see, now, that I learned compassion and so much more from all these hard things after I accepted G-d and His Son's forgiveness, and He revived my Spirit and gave me a NEW life.
