The Dawn of A New Day and Facing Myths

Boka Tov;
It is the Dawn of a new day.
Not just because G-d has lovingly returned each of our souls, but the Dawn of a new day for our nation.
History is being made, a day many never thought would happen. A biracial man is about to take the Oath of Office as the President of the Untied States.
Funny how I have seem cartoons of Abraham Lincoln celebrating this day as well.
Better reread your history. The "Great Emancipator" did abhorr slavery. But he was also will to countenance it if doing so would have vindication his main goal: to save the Union.
We are being told this a day Mr.Lincoln would be rejoicing. Actually, he is more than likely spinning in his grave.
Araham Lincoln himself said in 1858: "there is a physical difference between the black and the white races which...will forever forbid the two races living together upon terms of social and political equality."
Another myth bites the dust. Sorry, but Mr. Lincoln will not be doing the Macarena when Mr. Obama uses his old Bible when taking the Oath of Office.
What Mr. Lincoln would be pleased to see is the Union has remain intaken, in fact marvel that we have grown into a Great Nation. And maybe even admit his earlier statement was in error.
I am reminded that as a Jew, Hitler failed to kill us all. As a woman of colour, I shall watch a beautiful Afrcian Amercian woman take her place as the First Lady.
I will pray for our new first family, for their protection and for G-d to give Mr. Obama wisdom to lead this nation of ours.
He's going to need it.
And that is no myth.
